Gay Films
I've got the following gay(-related) films
I have build up this motley collection of films over a periode of some 20 years: I now have got 110 of them on Blu Ray disk, about 730 on DVD and the rest is stored on the my hard disks.
Some are really excellent, some are (very) good, some are OK to watch and some are poor or just awful. But they all have a gay feel about them and that's why I've added them to my collection.
Total: 1531 movies

A suicide victim has been discovered in the bathroom of Adelaide High School at precisely 2:37 p.m., and now time is about to shift back to the morning of this strange tragedy to show just how any of six potential victims could have fallen victim to that overwhelming ennui in director Murali K. Thalluri's quietly desperate drama. Life as a teenager is far from easy in the new millennium, and sometimes the comforts of modern society can inadvertently lead to isolation. A series of dark secrets are about to emerge from the hallways of Adelaide High, from the struggles of an unwanted pregnancy to the all-consuming inner turmoil of an outwardly confident athlete, the daily trials faced by an abused outcast, the social pressures that pile onto a girl with an eating disorder, the pressures placed upon a "straight 'A'" student, and the drug-addled efforts of a desperate teen to elude his inner-demons, it seems like any number of students could have made that unfortunate, and irreversibly permanent, decision. |

3 Steps to Heaven (English) |

In this artful blend of suspense and black comedy, a woman who wants to find out the truth about the murder of her boyfriend finds out more than she ever suspected. When Sean (Stuart Laing) is found dead after attending a particularly uninhibited party, his girlfriend finds it hard to believe that his passing was entirely accidental, and she begins doing some amateur detective work on the matter. In time she discovers three minor-league public figures were the last to see him alive - Angel Farnham (Con O'Neill), Andrea Wallis (Frances Barber), and Harry Roberts (James Fleet). The deeper the woman digs into the lives of these three, the more disturbed she becomes about the strange and sordid society that they inhabit, and she's drawn into a dark netherworld of crime and corruption. 3 Steps to Heaven was written and directed by Anglo-Greek filmmaker Constantine Giannaris; the film was purchased for American distribution by Miramax in 1995, but it was not seen in the United States until its video release in 2005. |

The plight of marginalized youth who inhabits a small town in southern Spain is explored in the sophomore effort from El Traje director Alberto Rodríguez. When Kenny (Glen Mulhern) arrives in the big city, he's dismayed to find his mate, Byron (Brendan Mackey), on the dole and boozing it up. But when a rich couple named The Queen (Michael Praed) and Golders Green (Simon Godley) turn up dead, Kenny and Byron think they've found the solution to their financial woes. Rumor has it that Golders Green kept a wad of cash squirreled away in his mattress. Unfortunately, several other colorful low-lives have their eyes on the prize, from The Desperate Dwarf (Raymond Griffiths) to The Iron Lady (Karen Sharman). As the queer corpses continue to pile up, Kenny and Byron wonder whether they'll ever locate the loot - and whether their newfound occupation has deeper implications. Screened at the Palm Springs Film Festival, Nine Dead Gay Guys marked the feature debut for both Mulhern and Mackey. 50 Ways of Saying Fabulous (English) |

A boy has to decide just how far he's willing to go to maintain a new friendship in this offbeat coming of age-drama. Billy (Andrew Paterson) is a 12-year-old boy growing up in a farming community in New Zealand in the '70s. Billy's slight weight problem, his flamboyant personality, and his fondness for costume play has made him a target for bullies at his one-room school, and his only friend is Lou (Harriet Beattie), his tomboy cousin who prefers to play football with the boys and is dreading the onset of adolescence. As Billy resigns himself to his status as an outcast, he's assigned a new deskmate - a new arrival in town named Roy (Jay Collins). Roy is a few years older than Billy, and takes an immediate liking to him; however, while Billy is a bit fuzzy about the practicalities of being gay (something he's accused of on a regular basis), Roy seems to have a good bit of practical knowledge of the subject and seems keen on pursuing a physical relationship with his new pal. As Billy is torn between happiness at having a new friend and confusion about Roy's level of interest in him, he discovers Roy is also attracted to Jamie (Michael Dorman), who has just hired on to work at the farm owned by Billy's dad. 50 Ways of Saying Fabulous was given its North American premier at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival. |

100 Days Before the Command (Russian) Sto dnej do prikaza |
![]() |
Life in the Russian military is observed in this almost surreal Russian drama that contains strong anti-war sentiments. The film's main theme suggests that we as humans do not have as much control over the course of our lives as we think we do. It is filmed without a plot and minimal dialog. Instead it offers a poetic depiction of brief, unexplained incidents in the soldiers' lives. The audience sees neither the beginning, nor the end of the episode. The purpose is not to explore the men themselves, but rather to evoke a mood of despair and impending doom. To get the film produced, filmmakers Hussein Erkenov, Yuri Polyakov, and Vladimir Golodov had to create two fake scripts in addition to the real one. The film was actually made in 1990; it could not be internationally released until Erkenov could afford to create his own company. |
